Find the emotional beat
Decide what changes during a shot. A camera move might reveal scale, create tension, or bring us closer to a character. If the move has no purpose, stillness may be stronger.
Every cut should change what we know or what we feel.
Design for the sequence
A striking frame is only one part of motion. Plan how shots relate through direction, contrast, pacing, and sound. Use a simple storyboard to test whether the story can be understood before polishing individual images.
Leave room to breathe
Constant movement can flatten a sequence. Alternate moments of intensity with pauses that give the audience time to absorb an image. Rhythm is created by difference, not speed alone.
